Monopotassium Phosphate (MKP)
KH₂PO₄ | CAS: 7778-77-0 | HS: 28352400
Product Description
Monopotassium Phosphate is the phosphate fertiliser of choice for fertigation (drip irrigation) in high-value horticulture and greenhouse production — providing both phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in a fully water-soluble, chloride-free form with slightly acidic pH that improves nutrient availability in calcareous soils. Its high purity, clean dissolution, and compatibility with most liquid fertilisers make it the standard P-K source in precision fertigation programmes. In food and pharmaceutical applications it serves as a pH buffer and mineral nutrient. MITCHEM exports agricultural and food grades.
Applications by Industry
The standard water-soluble P-K fertiliser for drip irrigation systems in tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, and orchards — fully soluble with no residue that could block drippers.
Applied as a foliar spray for phosphorus and potassium supplementation during fruit fill and maturation stages; its low salt index reduces leaf burn risk.
Used as a pH regulator, emulsifying salt, and phosphate source in food and beverage applications including sports drinks, processed foods, and dairy products.
Component in phosphate buffer saline (PBS) and pharmaceutical buffer systems for IV infusions, biologics formulation, and diagnostic reagent preparation.
