Dipotassium Phosphate
K₂HPO₄ | CAS: 7758-11-4 | HS: 28352400
Product Description
Dipotassium Phosphate is a water-soluble potassium phosphate salt that serves as a phosphorus and potassium nutrient source in fermentation media, a buffer in pharmaceutical formulations, and a food emulsifier and sequestrant (E340ii). In fermentation and biotechnology, DKP is an essential mineral nutrient in microbial growth media, providing phosphate (for ATP, nucleic acids, phospholipids) and potassium (osmotic regulation). In food applications, it is used in coffee creamers, non-dairy milk, and as a meat phosphate additive. MITCHEM supplies food and pharma grades with full documentation.
Applications by Industry
Essential phosphate and potassium source in bacterial, fungal, and cell culture media for production of antibiotics, enzymes, amino acids, and biopharmaceuticals.
Used as an emulsifying salt, sequestrant, and stabiliser in coffee creamers, powdered dairy products, processed meats, and non-dairy beverages.
Key component of phosphate buffer systems in parenteral (IV) drug formulations, vaccine formulations, and diagnostic reagents requiring pH control at physiological range.
High-purity potassium phosphate for fertigation and foliar feeding of high-value crops; provides both P and K in a single, highly soluble compound without chloride.
