Diammonium Phosphate (DAP)

(NH₄)₂HPO₄  |  CAS: 7783-28-0  |  HS: 31054000

Product Description

Diammonium Phosphate is the world's most consumed phosphate fertiliser, traded globally in 18-46-0 granular form (18% N, 46% P₂O₅). Its high nutrient analysis, good physical properties, and wide crop compatibility have made it the benchmark phosphate fertiliser in commodity fertiliser markets worldwide. In food applications (E342ii), technical-grade DAP is used as a yeast nutrient in fermentation (brewing, wine, baking) and as a food additive. MITCHEM supplies fertiliser and food-grade DAP to agricultural distributors and food processors with full documentation.

Applications by Industry

Agriculture (N-P Fertiliser 18-46-0)

The world's leading phosphate fertiliser — applied to wheat, rice, maize, soybean, and vegetable crops for basal phosphate and nitrogen dressing; high analysis reduces logistics cost per nutrient unit.

Fermentation Yeast Nutrient

Used as a readily assimilable nitrogen and phosphate nutrient supplement for yeast in wine making, brewing, and industrial ethanol fermentation where must/wort is nitrogen-deficient.

Fire Retardant (Ammonium Phosphate)

Active component in dry chemical fire extinguisher powder (ABC powder) — decomposes on heating to release phosphoric acid that coats burning surfaces and interrupts the combustion chain reaction.

Food Additive (E342ii)

Used as a pH regulator, leavening agent component, and mineral supplement in bakery products, dietary foods, and processed food applications.
