Caustic Soda Prills
NaOH | CAS: 1310-73-2 | HS: 28151100
Product Description
Caustic Soda Prills are spherical, free-flowing beads of sodium hydroxide produced by prilling molten NaOH. Their uniform size, low dust generation, and excellent flow properties make them the preferred solid NaOH form for automated dosing systems, bulk bag handling, and applications where consistent feed rate and minimal operator exposure are important. The prill form is increasingly specified in large-scale industrial operations replacing flakes due to better handling ergonomics and lower dust hazard. MITCHEM supplies in moisture-resistant packaging with full MSDS and corrosive goods documentation.
Applications by Industry
Uniform prill size enables consistent, metered feeding via screw conveyors and automated dosing systems in large-scale chemical, water treatment, and textile operations.
Same broad application base as caustic soda flakes, preferred where dust minimisation, flowability, and automated handling are process requirements.
Used in caustic washing of natural gas and refinery streams to remove H₂S, CO₂, and mercaptans; prill form preferred for remote field operations.
Food-grade prills are used in pH control, cocoa processing (alkalization/dutching), olive curing, and food equipment cleaning where controlled solid caustic addition is required.
