Caustic Soda Flakes
NaOH | CAS: 1310-73-2 | HS: 28151100
Product Description
Caustic Soda Flakes are the solid form of sodium hydroxide preferred in applications requiring ease of manual handling, accurate weighing, and convenient packaging without the liquid logistics of NaOH solution. The flake form dissolves rapidly in water to produce NaOH solutions at any required concentration. Widely used in soap manufacturing, water treatment dosing systems, textile processing, and as a laboratory and industrial base. MITCHEM supplies in moisture-resistant multi-layer bags with full corrosive materials documentation for safe handling and export.
Applications by Industry
Directly used in cold-process and hot-process soap making; dissolves cleanly in water to produce the NaOH solution required for saponification of oils and fats.
Dissolved on-site to prepare NaOH dosing solutions for pH correction, alkalinity adjustment, and acid neutralisation in water and wastewater treatment systems.
Used in mercerisation, scouring, and dyebath pH adjustment; flake form allows controlled dissolution and concentration adjustment at point of use.
Applied as a strong base in chemical synthesis, oil refining (caustic washing), pulp digestion, and general acid neutralisation wherever a solid NaOH form is operationally preferred.
