Strontium Carbonate
SrCO₃ | CAS: 1633-05-2 | HS: 28369990
Product Description
Strontium Carbonate is the principal starting material for manufacturing all other strontium compounds, and is the dominant raw material in the production of strontium ferrite (SrFe₁₂O₁₉) — the world's most widely produced permanent magnet material used in electric motors, loudspeakers, and magnetic separators. It is also a key flux and colorant in pyrotechnic compositions and specialty ceramics. MITCHEM exports high-purity and electronic-grade strontium carbonate to magnet manufacturers, ceramic producers, and chemical synthesisers worldwide.
Applications by Industry
Primary raw material for sintered strontium ferrite magnets used in DC motors, loudspeakers, magnetic door catches, and magnetic separators; the largest commercial application of strontium globally.
Provides strontium ions for red colour in pyrotechnic star compositions and signal flares, used as both oxidiser and colorant source.
Acts as a flux and stabiliser in specialty ceramic glazes, frits, and glass compositions, improving surface finish and reducing firing temperature.
Serves as the base material for producing strontium nitrate, strontium hydroxide, strontium acetate, and other downstream strontium compounds.
